Roger Hislop is an engineer and strategist at Internet Solutions (IS), driving business innovation through the smart application of new technologies.

He started his career in industrial control systems before moving into media and corporate marketing roles in Dubai and Cape Town.

He returned to his engineering roots at Internet Solutions in Johannesburg, focusing on a new generation of technologies, in particular, wireless networks and analytics systems for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and on cognitive radio research for Dynamic Spectrum Allocation (DSA) radio networks.

He is current chair of the IEEE 802.22.3 Task Group developing a standard for ubiquitous distributed spectrum sensing and characterisation systems, and his day job is heading up the development of a new business at IS to create and deliver IOT solutions.
