×Mia Scholtz is MD of Neo@Ogilvy South Africa. Her digital career began at Tiscali UK, the European ISP group. Her first start-up digital agency was Digital Republic, which she operated out of Spain. In 1999, she saw an opportunity in the fast-growing SA online advertising industry and returned to lead the Commercial and Client Services teams at Fuel Group, a part of Asia Digital Holdings plc.
Her continued success in this space, along with a vision for where she wanted to take her client's business, drove her to launch her very own local digital advertising agency in 2009, named Organic Media.
In May 2010, Ogilvy & Mather acquired her company and her entire team shelved their green hats and put on red hats in the form of Neo@Ogilvy South Africa, Ogilvy & Mather's global digital media advertising agency. In almost 5 years, and in-line with her unfaltering ethos, the team had grown from 3 to 15 members, and 2013 saw Mia's relocation from Ogilvy Cape Town to the Ogilvy JHB campus (HQ) to oversee a national operation.
Neo@Ogilvy's client satisfaction is envied by fellow O&M group members and Mia has, and always will, attribute her business success to her team, some of which have been working for her for 5+ years. Herein lays her ethos, to build a business around a core set of top class talent and moulding this talent into a motivated, functional family.
Mia has always supported the IAB SA chapter and ensured that Neo@Ogilvy (as part of O&M) remains a member and she is also a member of the local Mobile Marketing Association. Mia has worked with numerous local and international brands including Sage, IBM, Cell C, DStv, Sun International, Amex and Cartier.
She has proven 'client side', start-up and 'big agency' experience, and although she prefers a low-key existence, Mia is an influential industry thought-leader.
