Atose Aguele, managing director of Avedia Energy, has over 20 years' experience in the oil and gas industry stretching from the United States of America to Nigeria and the wider African region.
Atose Aguele, managing director of Avedia Energy, has over 20 years' experience in the oil and gas industry stretching from the United States of America to Nigeria and the wider African region.
After completing his studies in the USA in 1988, he started his career as sales manager with Bridgestone/Firestone Limited tyre manufacturers in New Jersey, USA, where he remained until 1991.
In 1991 he moved to Nigeria to join the established, family-run Grenigas Limited (the first indigenous LPG bottling company in Nigeria since 1967), as commercial manager in charge of the group's marketing department.
He was appointed commercial director of Grenigas Limited in 1993.
In 1995 Atose set up Union Petroleum Services Nig. Ltd with the aim to explore and manage a broader scope of the oil and gas industry across the wider sub-Saharan African region.
Union Petroleum Services is still is a significant trader of LPG, with exports of LPG from Bonny River Terminal, operated by Exxon Mobil.
Atose moved to South Africa in 2007 to set up Avedia Energy with a specific focus on the LPG trade industry in the Southern Africa region.
Avedia Energy currently has an established presence in South Africa (Saldanha Bay on the West Coast, and at Airport Industria in Cape Town) as well as in Namibia (Walvis Bay).
Atose holds a Graduate Degree in Economics from the University of Delaware, USA, (1990) as well as a BSc in Animal Science from the same university (1986).
Apart from his position as managing director of Avedia Energy, he also holds directorships at the following companies:
a) Union Petroleum Services Ltd
b) Avedia Foods Ltd
c) Industrial Air Products
