A workshop in Centurion is urgently hiring a motor vehicle technician.
Key responsibilities
- Vehicle diagnostics: Utilise advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles.
- Repairs and maintenance: Perform repairs and routine maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other vehicle components.
- Customer interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain vehicle issues, proposed repairs, and maintenance recommendations.
- Safety inspections: Conduct thorough inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of services performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.
Qualifications- Education: Matric certificate.
- Certification: Trade test certificate in motor mechanics (petrol or diesel). A master technician qualification is advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, preferably with high-volume brands such as Ford, Hyundai, or Mazda.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s licence.
- Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment, strong problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills.
Additional requirements- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.
- Clear criminal record.
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
