Area Sales Manager

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the sales operation of the company in a geographical area.

Responsibilities: 

• Providing quality leadership for the internal and external customers in all assigned tasks, while upholding the company’s values always: inclusive of constructive problem solving, facilitating creative improvements, and inspiring others.
• Establishing an environment and foundation for future sales growth.
• Selling value and solutions to the customers.
• Lead the top-to-top meetings with key customers to ensure strong relationships and remove business obstacles, aligning with long-term company direction.
• Achieving monthly and annual set budgets.
• Show initiative in analysing and improving business processes.
• Increasing business opportunities through various routes to market.
• Developing sales strategies and setting targets.
• Compiling and analysing sales figures.
• Keeping up to date with products and competitors.
• Maintaining and increasing standards of customer service. 
• Establishing, maintaining, and expanding your customer base.
• Reaching the targets and goals set for your area.

Qualifications and Competencies Required: 

• Must have matric and tertiary qualifications.
• Sales experience in selling forklifts.
• Excellent communication and 'people skills.
• Computer literacy is essential and Auto Line/Advantage experience is an advantage.
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
• Working knowledge of forklifts and selling forklifts within an assigned sales territory.
• Proven oral, written, telephone and presentation skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Good business sense.
