Qualifications and skills
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12
- Five years' practical experience in industrial, hotel, or corporate catering
- Formal culinary qualification or an apprenticeship programme essential
- Good interpersonal relationships
- Ability to multitask
- Adaptability to different working areas and conditions
- Ability to receive both verbal and written instructions
- Must be able to work shifts
- No current or previous criminal record
- Must have own accommodation and transport
Responsibilities
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Be hands-on and ensure all resources are actioned, with arrangements in place and the correct stock items available for the planned menu
- Confirm the correct patrons for quantity planning
- Action and control food outlet kitchens, ensuring they are open and ready for service on time
- Ensure food is correctly prepared and presented
- Keep the serving area clean according to company and health and safety standards
- Use preventative and corrective measures as issued
- Comply with company standards relating to personal hygiene and uniform
- Ensure cost on all food and beverage items is done and on file
