We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and skilled internal sales representative to drive sales growth by understanding customer needs and identifying new opportunities. This role will involve building strong customer relationships, generating leads, and supporting the sales team in closing deals within the engineering, mining, or agricultural sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Customer relationship management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring their satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Lead generation: Proactively identify and qualify new sales opportunities through cold calling, email campaigns, networking, and other effective methods. Follow up on leads and inquiries promptly and efficiently.
- Sales support: Provide comprehensive support to the sales team, including preparing quotations, processing orders, managing customer accounts, tracking deliveries, and ensuring adherence to payment terms.
- Customer service: Handle inquiries from internal and external customers, providing exceptional service and resolving issues promptly and professionally. Respond to customer sales inquiries and submit quotations within specified timelines.
- Sales target achievement: Achieve monthly sales targets and actively contribute to sales growth initiatives.
- CRM management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information in the CRM database, tracking interactions and identifying potential opportunities.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the outside sales team, projects team, and other departments to ensure seamless customer service and achieve company objectives.
- Administrative support: Assist with sales administration tasks, including compiling quotations, processing customer orders, organizing product deliveries, and supporting the tender process (research, cost estimates, etc.).
- Financial reporting: Manage financial reporting tasks related to sales, including processing quotes, creating invoices, and generating purchase orders.
- Pricing management: Update internal price lists to ensure accuracy and alignment with company standards.
- Product knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of our products and services to effectively answer customer questions and provide informed recommendations.
- Appointment scheduling: Assist the sales team with scheduling appointments for product demonstrations and presentations.
Skills requirements:
- Proven customer service experience.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a strong sense of urgency.
- High achievement orientation and a drive to exceed targets.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with customers.
- Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent computer skills (CRM experience preferred).
Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification. Additional training and qualifications in sales are highly advantageous.
- Three or more years of proven internal sales experience in the engineering, mining, or agricultural field.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. French language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
