The opportunity

Are you a customer-focused, energetic, and passionate individual? We are seeking a claims consultant to join our vibrant call centre team in George. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact and contribute to a dynamic team.

The role

The claims consultant is responsible for ensuring that claims are processed accurately and efficiently while mitigating costs in line with policy guidelines, delegated authorities, industry laws, and regulations. This customer-facing role embodies our Soft Landings philosophy, providing exceptional service from the initial claim lodgement to closure.

Working hours
  • Mondays to Fridays: 3:30am – 11am or 12am – 7:30am (rotational shifts).
  • Hours accommodate clients and colleagues in Australia and New Zealand.
Requirements
  • Completed Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a clear accent and the ability to understand Australian and New Zealand accents.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Prior experience in a customer service-oriented position.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational, and administrative skills.
  • Willingness to work night-shift hours to align with Australian and New Zealand business hours.
Advantageous skills
  • Previous experience handling insurance claims or working in a financial services institution.
  • Strong negotiation, persuasion, and investigation skills with customers and service providers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and service providers.
  • Ability to ask probing questions and gather detailed information to support claims processing.
