Responsibilities- Data analysis: Analyse complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights to guide business strategies and decisions
- Model development: Build and implement predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques
- Data exploration: Conduct data preprocessing to ensure data quality, completeness, and suitability for analysis
- Hypothesis testing: Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and assess business initiatives’ impact
- Visualisation: Create engaging data visualisations and dashboards to present findings and insights to stakeholders
- A/B testing: Design and analyse A/B tests to optimise product features, user experience, and marketing campaigns
Qualifications and experience- Degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field
- Proven experience as a data scientist with at least five years of experience in data analysis and predictive modelling
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools like Python or R
- Strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms and statistical techniques
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Tableau
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation
- Familiarity with big data technologies and distributed computing (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) is advantageous
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Contract details- Reference number: NG59734
- Duration: Twelve-month contract position
- Location: Johannesburg
- Rate: R400 to R600 per hour, negotiable based on experience
