An autonomous Namibian bank is seeking an Azure data engineer. The organisation provides superior financial services to individual and corporate clients, as well as international banking services by liaising with financial centres and institutions worldwide. This role offers insights into compliance and IT methodology processes within the group while contributing to its success and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain big data pipelines using data platforms.
- Act as custodians of data, ensuring data sharing adheres to information classification requirements and is on a need-to-know basis.
- Apply programming skills in data-related languages and frameworks such as Python, Spark, SQL, and Kusto.
- Utilise Azure data solutions, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Explorer, and Azure Databricks.
- Provide technical expertise in data engineering and data warehouse design.
- Employ modern software engineering concepts, including DevOps, CI/CD, and agile processes.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics and BI tools (e.g. Tableau) is advantageous.
- University degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related field focused on data-intensive applications.
- Proven experience in architecting and implementing scalable data pipelines in cloud environments.
- Proficiency with tools to manage infrastructure, including Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute, Azure Active Directory, and related Azure services.
