As a BI specialist, you will design and maintain optimal data models to ensure structured, consistent data flow between providers and consumers, meeting both business and architectural goals. You’ll contribute to the data modelling practice, mentor junior modelers, and lead teams where needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Design data models aligned with business requirements and architectural frameworks.
- Deliver data modelling solutions on time and within budget.
- Adhere to development methodologies, principles, and standards.
- Use approved tools to create modelling deliverables and leverage the Enterprise Data Model (IFW).
- Analyse source data, identify quality issues, and structure data requirements for optimal implementation.
- Create Source to Target Mappings and transformation rules.
- Develop physical models from logical designs and support data governance practices.
- Lead a team of data modelers, manage growth, and contribute to data modelling standards within the CoE.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data modelling.
- Advanced Diploma or National 1st degree/bachelor’s in commerce, information systems, or computer science.
- Certifications: DAMA, TOGAF.
- 7–10 years, including 1–2 years in a leadership role.
- Data modelling, data analysis, and industry tools.
- Data architecture, warehousing, and integration
- Agile methodologies, SDLC, and data governance
