A company based in George is seeking a compliance officer/company secretarial officer to join their team.
Key responsibilities
CIPC administration
- Manage company registrations, amendments, and annual returns with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC).
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including maintaining accurate and updated company records.
Administration of companies and trusts
- Oversee the setup, management, and maintenance of statutory records for companies and trusts.
- Prepare and file relevant documentation for changes in directorships, shareholding, and trust details.
- Ensure trust compliance with governance and regulatory frameworks.
Knowledge of estates
- Assist with estate administration, including gathering documentation, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with estate laws and processes.
- Collaborate with executors and beneficiaries to ensure seamless estate handling.
SARS compliance
- Manage tax-related compliance for companies, trusts, and estates by liaising with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
- Submit required tax filings, such as income tax, VAT, and other statutory returns, and address SARS queries.
Additional responsibilities
- Advise on corporate governance and regulatory matters for clients.
- Maintain excellent communication with clients, ensuring they are informed of deadlines and compliance requirements.
- Provide administrative support for board meetings, including minute-taking and preparation of resolutions.
