Job title: Freight and Logistics Sales Representatives (Internal and External)

Area: Clairwood, KwaZulu Natal

Industry: Freight and Logistics

Salary / CTC: R 33,000 – R 39,000 (Depending on current earnings, qualifications and experience)

Report to: National Sales Manager

Job Summary:

The Freight and Logistics Sales Representatives play a critical role in the transportation and logistics sector, focusing on building and maintaining relationships with clients to promote and sell freight services. This role involves both internal (office-based) and external (field-based) sales efforts, working closely with operations teams to ensure seamless delivery of services. The position requires strong sales acumen, market understanding, and the ability to identify and seize new business opportunities within the freight and logistics industry.

Key responsibilities:
  • Generating leads.
  • Meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Negotiating all contracts with prospective clients.
  • Helping determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions, and negotiations.
  • Preparing weekly and monthly reports.
  • Giving sales presentations to a range of prospective clients.
  • Coordinating sales efforts with marketing programs.
  • Understanding and promoting company programs.
  • Obtaining deposits and balance of payment from clients.
  • Preparing and submitting sales contracts for orders.
  • Visiting clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services.
  • Maintaining client records.
  • Answering client questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability.

Required qualifications and experience
  • A diploma or degree in business, logistics, or a related field is preferred
  • Previous five years’ working experience in sales
