What they are looking for

They are searching for the ideal skill set and cultural fit to join their dedicated team and lead their events activities. The team is based in Durban and Cape Town, and as an events manager, working remotely from either of these metropolitan areas is an option.

What is expected of you

The main role of the events manager is to conceptualise and execute events from start to finish. The clients’ industries involve launches, commercial events, and sporting events on a national basis. However, event management is hands-on, and this demanding role requires total flexibility.

Key personality traits

While remote work offers flexibility, this requires a highly responsible, mature individual capable of managing their own time.
  • Certificate or diploma in project and events management
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in events or activations
  • Experience within a public relations agency or understanding of PR and brand management fundamentals
  • Account management experience, ideally within the motor industry
  • Strong planning, organisation, workflow management, and budgetary control skills
  • Proven ability to manage and maintain supplier relationships
  • Strategic thinking to conceptualise events effectively
  • Competence in leading a project team with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive under extreme pressure
