This concert is a collaboration between the Symphony Choir of Cape Town, Windworx and The Stellenbosch University Symphonic Wind Ensembles, SACS High School Boys Choir and Herschel High School Chorale.
The choirs will be performing Karl Jenkins The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace. This work is an anti-war protest and provides stark references to the various emotions, fears and pain associated with war, in order to emphasise the futility of war.
The combined wind ensembles will also perform instrumental music by Gustav Holz as well as John William’s Hymn to the Fallen, which was featured on the soundtrack of the film Saving Private Ryan.
