Marketing & Media Africa

Africa is on trend...

If you still aren't completely sure if 'Africa is rising' or gaining ground in the industry, perhaps Oresti Patricios will be able to convince you. In his 2014 trends piece he says that Africa is surely on trend. He reckons the top four trends to look out for in 2014 are online retail; African art, culture and design; African tech that solves African problems; and Africa's smartphone surge.

Still think that social media is just for IT and marketing departments? Conrad David's opinion on the matter might change your mind. According to him, social media is your entire business, you need to create a complete social ecosystem of your business for all departments to embrace with open arms.

All you talented mobile software developers and designers (aka devigners) out there, make sure you register for Mobile Monday Nigeria's DevCon Alpha contest and stand a chance of winning prizes of up to US$250,000!

Finally, if you missed last week's trends pieces, go ahead and have a catch-up session in our Biz Trends special section.

Cheers!
