The winners of the 2013 Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship have been announced with an impressive mix of companies from four African countries with business operations in economic sectors including manufacturing, technology, FMCG, agriculture, automotive and social development. Congratulations to all the winners!

On the tech front, Albie Bester writes that traditionally, Africa lags the rest of the world in the adoption of new technology. He says in the case of cloud computing it is not much different, but it is expected that Africa will catch up much quicker than is the case with other technologies.

Remember that the African Creative Economy Conference is now in full swing. If you won't be attending, follow the event on Twitter at @acec2013 and #acec2013.
