Africa: Let's walk the walk we've talked

Dawn Rowlands, CEO of Aegis Media South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa, feels that we need to take a closer look at why these creative media festivals like Cannes Lions are relevant and what impact they should have on the African media and marketing landscape. She figures that in Africa, we have talked the talk, but we should now walk the walk.

On the topic of big events, Maria Muller advises on the do's and don'ts of event PR - focussing on the upcoming AfricaCom conference, taking place from 12-14 November.

The 2013 Cerebra Social Business Africa Report examines the social media and social business practices of Africa's top 200 companies and reveals that telecoms companies lead the way when it comes to brand social engagement in Africa.

The latest Biz Takeouts show focussed on advertising networks, get the podcast now if you missed the show.

And lastly, your something cool for the day: Times Press Challenge Ads is now open for voting on Bizcommunity, so get your vote in and stand a chance to win a Samsung tablet!

Cheers!
