The hashtag and FacebookI've comes to terms with the fact that not everybody knows how to use a hashtag on Twitter. In the past I used to get even more annoyed when users 'hashtagged' on Facebook - because it just didn't have a purpose there. Recently Facebook introduced a hashtags feature to its platform. It was reported that the reason for bringing hashtags to Facebook was to bring conversations about public events, people, and topics to the forefront. A lot like Twitter if you ask me... According to newsroom.fb.com, "...hashtags will be clickable on Facebook. Similar to other services like Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, or Pinterest, hashtags on Facebook allow you to add context to a post or indicate that it is part of a larger discussion. When you click on a hashtag in Facebook, you'll see a feed of what other people and Pages are saying about that event or topic". What you can now do is: Search for a specific hashtag from your search bar. For example, #NBAFinals. Click on hashtags that originate on other services, such as Instagram. Compose posts directly from the hashtag feed and search results.
