Let's catch up

So after a short little break, I am back in the office this week. A BIG thank you to my colleagues for holding the fort while I was away!

Well since there was no ed's column last week, I'm going to round up the news that caught my attention:
  • Universal Networks International unveils refreshed brand
  • Innovation Prize for Africa announces 2013 finalists. The awards ceremony will take place tomorrow evening in Cape Town and I am privileged to be able to attend. Follow #IPAPrize to keep up to date with the roundtable that will take place tomorrow morning.
  • Bharti Airtel have entered into an agreement with the Warid Group to fully acquire Warid Telecom Uganda, and also launched ONE AIRTEL, a service that will further ease the burden of roaming costs whilst travelling.
  • Lesotho now available in Google Street View.
  • Alliance Media gives back to the community by partnering with a non-profit organisation in Botswana.
  • African filmmakers can now submit their short films for Africa in Motion's annual short film competition.

Last but not last, the the 23rd World Economic Forum on Africa is set to take place this week in Cape Town from 8-10 May and provide an important platform for leaders from business to show their commitment to improving the state of the world.

And that's a wrap from me for this week.

    Have a great week!
    Evan-Lee Courie @evan1985
