From mobile to social

The year has just about come to an end, and after today, we have just three more daily newsletters still to be delivered to you - the last one being on Tuesday, 18 December 2012.

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, France Telecom-Orange has announced plans to launch its operations in the DRC. Jean-Léon Bonnechère, CEO of Orange DRC says that the company is committed to giving access to a reliable, high-quality network and to the possibilities offered by mobile broadband services using the 3G+ network.

Research is a hot topic right now as technological advances spur new ways of thinking, inspire novel methodologies in reaching consumers, and shake the foundations of traditional methodologies. In the 9th and final Thought Leadership Digibate for 2012, the digibate focused on the relevance of digital and mobile research in Africa. Listen to the podcasts.

As a member of the Mobile Advertising Association of South Africa team to establish mobile as an indispensable part of the marketing mix, Yusuf Begg gives us a brief breakdown of 8 different mobile users. Which one are you?

The first Goviral Social Video Equity Report lists the Top 100 brands in branded content in 2012. The report looks at how online video is being used by global brands as part of their marketing strategy. According to the report, half of the brands in the list uploaded over 5 hours of video content. Red Bull got the top spot, with Google and Disney coming in at 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Enjoy the last few weeks of 2012!
