How many days left until the Olympic Games?

As the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games draw near, I began to wonder just how many days there were until the opening ceremony. In my search I discovered that there were just about 40 days until the opening ceremony. Just 40?! Usually you hear of big countdown celebrations at the 100 day mark but maybe I missed that...

I went along and wanted to find out just which African countries were sending teams to represent our continent. I came across a list of individual African country's information regarding their Olympic squads, star athletes and medal contenders. I was amazed to find out the amount of athletes that will be taking part come 27 July 2012. Read Africa's Summer Olympic Games in London 2012.

I would like to take the opportunity to wish each and every team on the continent the very best of luck! I'm positive Africa will collect more than a handful of medals!

In news this week: the credibility of a Kenyan newspaper comes into question; the 'Netflix of Africa' iROKOtv reaches a staggering 500 000 registered users within six months of launching; MTN withdraws advertising from a business magazine, following a story that exposes mobile money fraud; Continental Outdoor Media releases research findings of consumer behaviour in Malawi; and the MBC-TVM merger remains in the spotlight

Also, in a two-part series, contributor Jason Stewart tackles 'The challenge of negative word of mouth' marketing and Wikus Engelbrecht provides 10 tips on getting email marketing right.

PS: we've now launched our very own online shopping portal called BizBuy.

Cheers to a great week!
