Kenya Airways achieves African first through Boeing partnership

Through a partnership between Boeing and Kenya Airways, the airline looks set to become the African carrier to use Boeing's consumable and expendable services. Boeing will deliver materials, offer innovative services, and understand the needs to keep maintenance operations running at optimum efficiency as part of the partnership deal.

The agreement covers more than 18,700 parts during a five-year implementation period; additional parts will be added in phases, up to the 35,700 parts required for the Kenya Airways fleet. The consumable and expendable services offering will provide parts and services to Kenya Airways' Boeing fleet of 14 737s and eight 787 Dreamliners, which will be serving a new non-stop route from Nairobi to New York beginning in October 2018.
