Wendy Moorcroft to serve on Cannes Jury
Wendy Moorcroft, creative director of JWT Cape Town, has been selected to serve on one of the judging panels at this year’s Cannes Lions international advertising awards. She joins four other South Africans chosen to adjudicate at the world’s premier advertising industry showcase, which will this year be held in Cannes, France from 15 to 21 June.
This year will be the 50th time that the Cannes Lions is taking place.
Moorcroft, who will adjudicate on the jury for Outdoor and Press Advertising, says it is a tremendous honour to judge at the world’s premier advertising event. "To not only see, but judge some of the world’s top advertising talent, is an honour beyond belief," says Moorcroft. "I also deem my presence on the jury to be a feather in the cap for the quality of creative work my team at JWT Cape Town has been delivering over the past few years.
"I am honoured at having been ask to serve on such an important jury, namely for press and outdoor advertising. Press is at the very heart of the advertising industry as it all started in newspapers. And outdoor is tremendously exciting, especially in light of the increase in its popularity in South Africa over the years."
