Sandra Rosenberg, a lady with spunk and an unlimited zest for life, joined Good Hope FM on 06 January as the station’s newsreader.
It all started when she joined a community radio station as a reporter. "Because of the nature of a community radio station, I had to become a ‘Jill of all Trades’, so at any given time I helped out as a receptionist, producer, DJ and sound engineer," says Sandra.
After completing her internship at the SABC in Green Point she was snatched by P4 radio to read the news. When asked why she decided to join Good Hope FM she said, "Quite simply put, it was the right time for change. I enjoyed working at a jazz radio station, but I felt the need to explore something new. I love radio and I can’t really see myself in any other medium, so my move to Good Hope FM ensures that I am still involved with my first love. What I love most about Good Hope FM is that the station literally pumps all over the Mother City. Be it at Bellville Station, the Grand Parade or your local hairdresser."
The core challenges of being a news reader on Good Hope FM is the unbiased attitude that needs to be upheld when presenting news. Deadlines are a major factor and keeping a cool head and mature level of professionalism is what it’s all about. However with the passion and enthusiasm that describes Sandra Rosenberg, her enjoyment of what she does is evident to her listeners.
