New Sales and Marketing Director appointed at Volkswagen South Africa
Volkswagen of South Africa Sales and Marketing General Manager Mike Glendinning will assume the post of Director of Sales and Marketing for the motor manufacturer, effective from February 1, 2006.
Mr Glendinning replaces Jolyon Nash, who resigned last year.
Born in Port Elizabeth, Mr Glendinning, 44, completed his schooling at Grey, and obtained a B Comm Honours degree through the University of Port Elizabeth (now the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University) and Unisa.
Mr Glendinning has been employed at Volkswagen of South Africa for 21 years.
He joined the company as a graduate trainee in 1985, and has held various positions within the Sales and Marketing Division. These positions include: Marketing Communications - Brand responsibility; Marketing Manager - Brand and Product Planning; and Marketing Planning - Sales forecasting, long range planning, distribution.
He served as General Manager - Audi Sales and Marketing, before assuming the post of General Manager - Volkswagen Sales and Marketing two years ago.
As Director, Mr Glendinning will oversee the Sales and Marketing of the Volkswagen, Audi and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Brands.
