The Property Magazine appoints Donald Paul as their new editor
Well known editor and media-marketing expert Donald Paul has been appointed as editor of The Property Magazine.
Publisher of The Property Magazine Tony Vaughan says, "Donald has more than 20 years of top-class local and international experience in both the editorial and marketing sides of the media and understands the business side of publishing. As The Property Magazine is growing so rapidly we felt we needed someone with Donald's experience to consolidate its position and take it to the next level."
Donald has run his own magazine in California (San Francisco Review of Books), helped launch and edit magazines for start-up companies (SACitylife magazine) as well as within established corporations. He edited and launched WIN!, a lottery magazine, and, as associate editor, was involved extensively with the launch of Drum East Africa for the Family Magazines division of Media24.
He also formed part of the team that won the tender for a weekly 30-minute television magazine show (Big City) on M-Net, which was a brand extension of the print magazine, SAcitylife. As one of the editorial directors of the show, which won an Avanti award for "best magazine programme", he helped re-package and sell it to e-tv (as Citylife).
Donald has a BA in English and Philosophy from the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg, and has worked in both the private commercial sector and with NGOs in the Sudan; and in publishing in England, Greece, the Middle East and the USA.
The Property Magazine launched in the Western Cape six months ago and the Gauteng edition went on sale last month. The Durban edition is to be launched in early 2005.
