Jeremy Goodall moves to Suburban Films
Jeremy Goodall has joined the Directing roster at Suburban Films, the company founded in 2000 by his brother Miles Goodall and Executive Producer Linda Notelovitz.
Jeremy joins the Suburban team in their new offices in Cape Town, whilst Miles and Linda will be relocating to their new Joburg Head Office in the new year. Jeremy will be accompanied by his partner and now Producer Liza Crick, who will be co-producing initially with Sonja ter Horst.
Jeremy will bring his own combination of talents to the directing line-up at Suburban, which will sit well with the existing team of Miles Goodall, Valenté Bosch and new animation specialist Cameron Platter. His versatility is his biggest strength, with experience across all styles of directing from dialogue driven performance and comedy, to more visually focused, atmospheric imagery. His directing style, in one word, is about 'action'. His work has a particular focus on movement, from dynamic, high-speed drama to gentle, fluid motion.
Besides being one of South Africa's most experienced and accomplished Directors, Jeremy is also a Cinematographer, lighting and shooting all his own work.
"I think this is the right move at the right time for me" said Jeremy. "The creative atmosphere and the sense of team spirit at Suburban Films are like a breath of fresh air. I feel very positive about the future there."
Linda and Miles are equally optimistic about the future.
"Jeremy is one of the top talents here in South Africa and has some impressive work on his reel. I have no doubt that he has the potential to do even better work in the future and I think we have the right creative backup here at Suburban Films to make that happen," said Linda.
"I'm looking forward to having Jeremy on the team," said Miles. "I know he's going to add something special to Suburban, and this way at least I get to keep an eye on my brother".
The Suburban Films Directors Roster also includes:
- Miles Goodall, Director/Cinematographer (voted Best Director in 2004 by his peers in the industry)
- Valenté Bosch, Director
- Jonathan Taylor, Director/Cinematographer
- Cameron Platter, Animator/Director (Saatchi's New Directors Showcase at Cannes 2004)
