Bona women's editor, Primrose Williams, wins international award
Primrose Williams, cancer survivor and women's editor of Bona magazine, has won the Emerging World category of the European School of Oncology's Awarding Cancer Enlightenment Reporter Award.
Ms Williams has worked on Bona for the past 26 years, starting as a Xhosa translator and editor and later becoming women's editor. She is fluent in all four languages in which the magazine is published.
The news came through from Italy where she was competing against 72 other nominated journalists from round the world. Congratulating Primrose on her achievement, Sipho Moshoane, SA corporate affairs director of Eli Lilly, one of the competition's international sponsors, noted the value of raising awareness about pertinent social and health issues in our country.
