Men’s Health Editor goes global
Men's Health, the world's leading male lifestyle magazine, takes a step into the global spotlight with the recent announcement that Jason Brown will step down as Editor of the South African edition to take up the position as Editorial Director of Men's Health International in the USA. Jason's new position, based at Rodale Press, means he will oversee all 34 editions of the magazine worldwide.
Jason has spent the last seven years at Touchline Media, and has been editor of Men's Health for the last two and a half years. Under his editorship the magazine has continued its meteoric rise in the South African market, consistently winning awards locally and internationally and growing in circulation.
"For me," comments Jason, "editing Men's Health is the best job in the country and I have grown immensely because of the challenges and people I've had the privilege to work with. The consolation and one of the main reasons I accepted this job was because I will remain within Men's Health, merely working on it from a different perspective. I am passionate about this brand and what it can achieve and will still be involved in the monthly production of the South African edition.
"This is an excellent opportunity for Jason and one in which the SA edition of Men's Health will benefit from," explains Andrew Sneddon, Men's Health publisher. "Jason's appointment as Editorial Director for Men's Health International is an incredible achievement, one of which we are all very proud. The two of us have worked together on MH virtually since we launched seven years ago, so it's going to feel strange not having him here editing the best mag in the country. On the flip side it's a dream come true for him, as he'll still be involved with the SA edition on a weekly basis, but he'll be working with the other 33 countries that publish the magazine worldwide. Jason will be at the forefront of new MH brand extensions and innovations, working with some industry giants at Rodale Press. We wish him all the best and look forward to having him back in a couple of years."
Jason will continue his role as editor of Men's Health South Africa until October 2004.
