Anneke van Zyl has joined the Cape Town office of OMD Media Direction SA as media strategist.
Anneke has extensive experience in media, which has been gleaned in agencies TBWA Hunt Lascaris, DDB and FCB.
OMD Media Direction welcomes Anneke and looks forward to introducing someone of her calibre to our existing and potential clients.
Born in the Karoo, schooled in Cape Town, Anneke was raised, trained and educated by the advertising business, which she joined with the advent of commercial television.
Having worked in both Johannesburg and Cape Town over the past 24 years, her experience in buying and planning spanned a vast number of industries and a high number of leading South African as well as international brands.
The last 12 years has seen Anneke heading up media departments, with one of her most notable accomplishments, the establishment of the media planning department for TBWA Hunt Lascaris Cape in 1997.
After her full-time involvement at TBWA Hunt Lascaris Cape, followed a much needed 'sabbatical' consulting as an independent media strategist.
She highlights the most rewarding experiences in her career as having been involved with the launch of the cellular network Vodacom, McDonalds and Virgin Cola in South Africa as well as most recently, the introduction of the Proudly South African brand to local consumers.
