Upwardly Mobile at Marcus Brewster Publicity

Helen Constantine has been appointed as COO of Marcus Brewster Publicity. The promotion hands Constantine the responsibility for managing the award-winning agency including HR, IT, Finance, Marketing, Research as well as new business development.

Brewster himself will concentrate on Operations, making MBP one of the few agencies of note in the industry where the CEO actually works on all client business.

The move was planned for a year ago when Constantine joined the agency after having headed up the PR, Promotions and Events divisions of SLYMedia.

Replacing Constantine as Account Manager in the agency is new recruit Dominique Coetzee. Coetzee was until last month Free State regional head of The Mix communications consultancy.

In other upwardly mobile news, Nikki Leib has been made head of the Celebrity division whilst MBP staffer Lesley Raby has been promoted to Account Manager.

The net result of these appointments is a flatter staffing structure. "Client service is now only handled at a senior management level as we’ve removed all juniors from the organogram" says Constantine.

Comments Brewster: "We’ve turned our back on the traditional agency structure as I don’t believe clients are always confident and comfortable with being relegated to a medium or light weight suit. The seniority of our staff means they add value around the board room table".
