M-Net buys local movie

Anton Beebe from Oculus Films has sold the broadcasting rights to his short film '117' to M-Net. The film will be screened in South Africa and across Africa from December. An award winning commercials director, Beebe has returned to SA from LA and Sydney, to team up with local producer Brendan Rice to start Oculus Films, a commercials production company. 117 was nominated in the Australian Film Institute Awards for Best Cinematography in 2001 and screened at several international film festivals.
