e.tv has suspended popular sports presenter Eben Jansen over remarks he exchanged with sports journalist Craig Marais about claims that Manchester United manager Sir Alec Ferguson had groped a Cape Town woman. Quraysh Patel, e.tv director, says that the remarks were not scripted for the news bulletin and that there will be an investigation into whether they were unprofessional. Jansen faces a disciplinary hearing next week.
