Satellite sports radio launches
South Africa's first all sports station, Sports information Radio (SiR) begins broadcasting via satellite tomorrow, 18 October. With a 50/50 mix of sports talk and music, the station's aim is set to become the leader in all things sport. SiR's will to provide information on all sports, from archery to handball, from extreme sports to curling, from body building to formula 1 - 115 sports disciplines in all. It is designed to compliment TV Sport and ball by ball Radio Commentaries, to delve deeper and to focus more thoroughly on the issues. There will also be a strong emphasis on local music. Broadcast nationally by satellite, (PAS7/10) on the Vivid Decoder system operated by Sentech (available via the main menu), SiR is also available on DSTV's Public Bouquet. Go to: www.sir247.net.
