Seven Contenders for Sound Editing Oscar
This week the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the seven films being considered for the sound editing Oscar. This year's contenders are "A.I. Artificial Intelligence," "Amelie," "Black Hawk Down," "The Fast and the Furious," "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring," "Monsters, Inc." and "Pearl Harbor."
Ten-minute aural clips from each of the films will be played for the Sound Editing Award Committee on 5 February, who will then vote for Oscar consideration. If finalists are selected, they will be announced along with nominations in 23 other categories on 12 February.
