Hacker does good deed
In an ironic dig of kindness, LowVoltage, the hacker who was threatened with legal action after posting disparaging remarks about the national lottery on 2600.co.za, the hackers' website that he administrates, has paid the overdue renewal fee for the Uthingo domain. While on the .co.za registry site he noticed that the Uthingo.co.za domain renewal fee was overdue and faced suspension, so he paid the R50 on their behalf. In a letter to the lottery operator he says that he understands "that an organisation such as yours may not have the extravagant budget to spend on intangible items such as domain names", but asks that should funds become available that the repayment be donated to the Soweto Hospice.
