Latest virus spreads to half-a-million computers

For the digitally minded: The latest virus, named Blaster, invected 423 000 computers over the Internet in a short space of time. All these computers were programmed by the virus to launch an attack on the Microsoft.com website beginning at the same time on Saturday. This attack was averted by Microsoft after some quick thinking.
