Government advised on curbs to alcohol advertising
The Central Drug Authority has made several recommendations to government concerning curbs and regulations for alcohol advertising. They advise that no alcohol advertising be allowed on radio or television between 6am and 10pm to prevent children from viewing it. When the ads are flighted, be it TV, radio, print, cinema, billboards, taxis, sponsorships or internet, it is recommended that they include "counter-adverts" which focus on the dangers of misuse. Clearly visible warning labels are recommended for all alcohol containers.
