Five women from Cape Town communities were treated to an afternoon at the Appletiser Summer Sunset Concert Series, Kirstenbosch, courtesy of Appletiser and Heat magazine, on 19 March 2006. The women were chosen through a listener-nominated competition run on Cape Talk Radio. Says Appletiser SA brand manager Gwen Ridsdale, "It's our way of thanking these wonderful, selfless people for the incredible work they do for the betterment of their communities." The initiative began two seasons ago.
