Test your eyes at the cinema
The SA Optometric Association and Ster-Kinekor have embarked on a national Eye Care improvement project called 'Vision Mission' that will diagnose and treat refractive errors and preventable blindness in children under eight years old. The project will provide children from previously disadvantaged backgrounds with eye tests in cinema foyers nationwide and will be followed up with treatment and glasses. The initiative will be launched during Eye Care Awareness Week on Monday 10 October when schoolchildren from across the country will be bussed to Ster-Kinekor cinemas in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Pretoria for eye tests and a premiere screening of the movie Chicken Little.
