Tuscan is out, trees are in
The Tree House in Higgovale, Cape Town, has been voted the best building in South Africa in the first-ever nationwide architecture survey by South Africa's VISI magazine, in conjunction with the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA). The survey, sent out to 2 500 national respondents, invited South Africans to vote for their favourite building. 95% of the respondents who believe there is a need for unique SA architecture referred to their dislike of the pseudo-Tuscan style.
