East Coast Radio attacked by airwave pirate
For the past three weeks East Coast Radio has been the target of attacks by a techno-savvy airwave pirate who manages to broadcast flippant remarks during the morning show, the station's busiest listening time. According to the broadcaster's engineers the intruder taps into all 17 sentech transmitters in KwaZulu-Natal and apparently disguises his voice using a voice processor. The intruder never stays on air for longer than three minutes, making it difficult to pinpoint his location. An engineering team has been appointed to monitor the broadcast on a 24-hour basis.
