ASA pulls Microsoft ad
The ASA has ordered Microsoft to pull an ad that depicted a woolly mammoth, a dodo, a sabre tooth tiger and a hacker. The ad, which implies that Microsoft software will bring about the extinction of the hacker, was judged to be "unsubstantiated and misleading". An objection was lodged by freelance journalist Richard Clarke, who argued that Microsoft's software is "riddled with vulnerabilities".`
