DStv's standalone streaming service could be cheaper than Netflix, says analyst
According to analysts, MultiChoice's standalone DStv Now streaming service could be as affordable as a Netflix subscription.MyBroadband reports that the standalone service is set to launch in March 2020.
The company currently allows subscribers to stream content through its DStv Now online platform, but this still requires users to have a DStv account -- which is linked to a decoder. Africa Analysis media analyst Nozi Dikgale believes that the company could circumvent operational costs such as manufacturing and installation of decoders and satellite dishes with the launch of its online-only service.
This could enable the company to offer standalone DStv Nowat a more affordable price than its satellite packages. Read more on MyBroadband.
