Air Tanzania is back in South Africa
To mark the return of Air Tanzania's operation in South Africa, an exclusive event was held at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. The event was attended by local media, members of the Tanzanian diaspora and the Ambassador of Tanzania to South Africa.
The airline's first flight back to SA included a VIP delegation with the Tanzanian Deputy Minister of Work, Transport and Communication Elias John Kwandikwa; managing director and CEO for Air Tanzania Ladislaus Matindi; and a representative from the Tanzanian tourist board amongst other dignitaries. Using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, flights between Johannesburg and Dar-es-Salaam will commence with four frequencies on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
