Nokia, Vodacom sign MoU
Nokia and Vodacom have entered a memorandum of understanding on the trial use of Nokia's 5G technology. The MoU is intended to accelerate the launch of the new technology and enable Vodacom to drive digitalisation in South Africa.
Nokia's 5G portfolio allows operators to provide ultra-fast mobile broadband services that leverage multi-Gigabit speeds and ultra-low latency. The companies will initially focus on the delivery of Ultra-HD and virtual reality video services.
Vodacom and Nokia will also collaborate to understand how 5G can drive continued economic growth in vertical industries important to South Africa.
