RIM thanks emergency services for Thandi rescue
The Robben Island Museum (RIM) thanked the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI), ER24, other emergency services, the RIM team, and the V&A Waterfront for its efforts in rescuing the 64 passengers who were on the Thandi chartered passenger ferry. The ferry experienced trouble during its return trip to Cape Town.
RIM has initiated an internal investigation, which will determine the cause of the incident. The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) will also be conducting an investigation.
