Gold Travel awarded level two B-BBEE rating following efforts to increase black ownership

Following efforts to increase black ownership in partnership with NetValue Equity Partners, Gold Travel has been awarded a level two B-BBEE rating. Gold Travel had implemented 52.5% black ownership and 31.5% black woman ownership since its last evaluation.

This certification falls under the Qualifying Small Enterprise, which was recently added to the Tourism Sector Code as a result of the criticism of the slow pace of transformation in the sector. The slow rate of transformation in the South African travel and tourism sector has been continuously highlighted, most recently at the World Travel Market Africa and Tourism Indaba.
