SABC local content policy here to stay
The decision to introduce a 90% local content quota at the SABC is here to stay and will not be scrapped after three months as previously suggested.
Speaking at The New Age Business Breakfast in Sandton, SABC chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng said there had been a misunderstanding.
Motsoeneng said SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago was misunderstood when he said that they would review their progress every three months.
"When Kaizer was explaining to the media, they did not understand him. What he was referring to is quarterly reviews of all programmes," he said.
"So we are going to review music, we are going to review our own programmes . after three months we [will] revisit our performance [but] 90% will be there." "" Kgothatso Madisa
